The Los Feliz
Mural Festival
The Los Feliz Mural Festival is a community-driven public art initiative bringing artists, businesses, property owners, and neighbors together to celebrate neighborhood identity and strengthen our commercial corridors. Curated by longtime resident and muralist Ryan "Yanoe" Sarfati, the inaugural festival brought five new murals to Los Feliz in August 2026.
Over the course of a week, artists transformed walls from Vermont Avenue to Hollywood Boulevard into lasting works of public art, culminating in the Los Feliz Art & Music Block Party and creating a walkable outdoor gallery for the community to experience year-round.
Artist Curation
Throughout his career, Ryan has developed relationships with some of the most respected artists working in public art today. Drawing on that network, he assembled a diverse group of local, emerging, and internationally recognized artists for the inaugural festival. After nearly two decades living in Los Feliz, raising his family here, and building his career as an artist, Ryan saw the festival as an opportunity to bring those relationships home and create something meaningful for the community that has given him so much.
Each artist was carefully matched with a specific location, creating murals that respond to the character, history, and identity of the surrounding area. The result is a collection of five distinct, site-specific murals, combining world-class artistic talent with a deep understanding of local culture and place to create lasting landmarks throughout Los Feliz.

Greetings From Los Feliz
Vermont and Franklin
Artist: Victor Ving - A postcard-inspired gateway mural celebrating Los Feliz and the people, places, and character of the neighborhood. Made possible with support from the Los Feliz Improvement Association (LFIA), the mural brings Victor Ving's nationally recognized Greetings Tour to Los Feliz while highlighting landmarks and details unique to the neighborhood.

The Punchbowl
Melbourne Avenue
Artists: Angelica Navarro & Eric “Zoueh” Skotnes -
A vibrant collaboration between two Los Angeles-based artists, combining Navarro’s richly layered botanical imagery with Skotnes’s dynamic figurative style. Spanning the parking lot wall along Melbourne Avenue, the mural brings color, movement, and new life to an everyday urban space.

Baller Art Ware
Tracy Street
Artist: Shepard Fairey - Created as a refresh of Fairey’s original Make Art Not War mural, which had deteriorated over time, the new work continues the wall’s longstanding message of peace with new imagery. Painted with Fairey’s crew as part of the Los Feliz Mural Festival, the piece gives new life to a familiar neighborhood landmark while carrying its original spirit forward.

Soap Plant / Wacko
Hollywood Blvd
Artist: Nychos - Created by internationally recognized Austrian muralist Nychos, this large-scale work transforms the service alley behind Soap Plant/Wacko, replacing a heavily deteriorated existing mural with a striking new piece of public art. Known for his distinctive blend of anatomy, illustration, and surreal visual storytelling, Nychos brings a bold new presence to a space that reflects Wacko’s longtime creative and irreverent spirit.

Hollywood Blvd
Artist: Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati - An original site-specific mural by Los Feliz artist and festival curator Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati, combining wildlife imagery, bold color, and contemporary street art influences. Created with support from Los Angeles City Council District 13, the mural transforms a frequently vandalized wall along Hollywood Boulevard into a vibrant work of public art celebrating the creativity and artistic identity of the neighborhood.

The Los Feliz Mural Festival was designed to do more than create new public art. From the beginning, the goal was to use art and community programming to bring people onto our commercial streets, encourage them to explore local businesses, and create opportunities for local artists and vendors.

KEEPING THE IMPACT LOCAL
The impact extended beyond brick-and-mortar businesses. The block party created opportunities for local artists, makers, and independent vendors to sell directly to their neighbors, build new customer relationships, and benefit from the activity generated by the event.
Meeting customers that as it turns out live next door to me? It does not get more ‘local community’ than that.
This event was as good as the market that celebrates the tree lighting - by a mile my busiest and best day of the year. I can’t tell you what a difference the money makes, but also feels good to do a local market knowing my vendor fee is going somewhere that actually makes a difference in the community.

The murals are complete. Now, help us protect them.
Thanks to the support of our community, five mural projects were brought to life across Los Feliz during the inaugural festival. As we close out the project, a few important final costs remain.
Several of the murals require additional anti-graffiti coating beyond the coverage provided by the City of Los Angeles, and each mural must also complete required registration and final administrative steps.
Your contribution will help us protect these works, complete the final requirements for each mural, and ensure this new collection of public art can be enjoyed for years to come.
